These headshot sessions are priced separately from wedding photography and have their own scheduling and booking process. How long does a headshot session take?

The Standard Session is 20 to 30 minutes. The Executive Session is about an hour, which gives us time to cover multiple locations, one or two outfit changes, and a wider variety of looks and expressions. Most people don’t need more than an hour for headshots — after that, the fatigue starts to show in the images, and the returns diminish quickly. What should I wear?

Wear what you actually wear to work, or whatever represents how you genuinely want to be seen professionally. Solid colors photograph better than busy patterns. Avoid white shirts, which tend to reflect light and flatten the image. Layers work well. If you’re a real estate agent, business casual reads better than a formal suit. Where are headshots taken?

We shoot outdoors in natural light in Newburgh, NY and the surrounding Hudson Valley area. Outdoor natural light is more flattering than studio lighting for most people, and it produces images that look more alive and less like a driver’s license photo with an expensive backdrop. We can also shoot at your office, your storefront, or another location that makes sense for your industry or personal brand. Traditional studio sessions are available on request.

How many final images will I receive?

The Standard Session includes 3 fully retouched final images. The Executive Session includes 8 retouched finals. Additional retouched images are available at $75 each beyond your included count. You’ll receive access to your complete proof gallery and select which specific images you want retouched — meaning you only ever pay for retouching on the photos you actually plan to use. For most working professionals, 3 to 5 strong headshots is more than enough for the next few years.

How soon will I get my photos?

Retouched finals are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. If you need your images faster for an upcoming deadline, a speaking engagement, a new website launch, or a press feature, let us know at booking and rush delivery is available in most cases. We’ve turned around same-day delivery when the situation called for it. Just be upfront about your timeline and we’ll do everything we can to make it work.

What’s the difference between retouched and unretouched?

Retouched images have professional post-processing applied: color correction, skin tone smoothing that doesn’t look like plastic, minor blemish removal, and professional sharpening. Unretouched images are straight from the camera with no post-processing. Every client receives access to their full unretouched proof gallery to browse and make selections — you only pay for retouching on the specific images you choose. You’ll never be charged for work you didn’t ask for.
