Privacy policy.
Short version: I respect your privacy. I'll only use your information to respond to your inquiry and deliver your photography. I won't sell it, share it with vendors, or add you to any list you didn't sign up for.
Who runs this site
This site is operated by Joshua Brown, doing business as Joshua Brown Photography, based in Newburgh, NY. If you have a question about anything below, email inquiries [at] joshuabrownphotography [dot] com.
What I collect
- Contact form submissions. Your name, email, phone, wedding date, venue, and anything you put in the message field. These are delivered to me through Formspree, a form-handling service that filters spam and forwards your message to my inbox. I keep them only long enough to respond and onboard you if you book — inquiries that don't lead to a booking are typically removed within 24 months.
- Email correspondence. Standard. Messages live in my inbox.
- Booking and contract information. Once you book, I keep what's needed to deliver your wedding photography — full names, ceremony location, billing info, vendor list you share with me.
- Website analytics & advertising. I use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, clicks, and anonymized session activity), and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure and improve my advertising. These are loaded through Google Tag Manager and may set cookies and share data with Google and Meta, including for ad measurement and retargeting. I don't sell this data. You can opt out using your browser settings, an ad/tracking blocker, or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and you can manage ad personalization in your Meta ad preferences.
What I don't do
- I don't sell your information. To anyone.
- I don't share your contact details with vendors — florists, planners, venues — without asking you first.
- I don't add you to a marketing list. If you book, you'll get the emails needed to deliver your wedding. That's it.
- I don't run third-party ad pixels (Facebook, Google Ads, etc).
Images of your wedding
By default, I may share a small selection of images from your wedding on this site, my social media, and in submissions to publications — unless you ask me not to. If you'd prefer your wedding stays private, just tell me. I'll honor it. This is covered in detail in the photography contract you sign at booking.
Cookies & browser storage
This site sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. It does use a small amount of your browser's own storage for things the site needs to remember — your light/dark theme choice, whether you dismissed the “book a call” banner, and, if you arrived from a campaign link, the referral source so I can see how you found me. That information stays in your browser and you can clear it anytime from your browser settings.
Your rights
You can ask me at any time to delete your information. Email inquiries [at] joshuabrownphotography [dot] com and I'll handle it within a reasonable time. If you're in a jurisdiction with formal data-privacy rights (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) those apply and I'll work with you to honor them.
Changes
If this policy changes meaningfully, the date at the top updates. The latest version is always at /privacy-policy.
